1. How is God related to the Sacred?
(IGNOU) MPYE-010 Important Questions with Answers English Medium- The relationship between God and the Sacred varies among different religious and spiritual traditions. In many belief systems, God is considered the ultimate source of the Sacred or is directly identified with it. The Sacred often encompasses that which is considered holy, divine, transcendent, and worthy of reverence.
The divine purposes of God are often hidden from mankind, not only because His thoughts and His ways are far higher than ours, but also because our ability to understand is often limited to our own natural experiences in life. We are however able to gain meaningful insights into His purposes and plans by identifying those areas that the Bible reveals are Sacred, Holy, and Precious to God.
This teaching will identify 3 things that God considers very special within the world, so special that His divine purposes and plans are centered around them. In monotheistic religions such as Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, God is typically seen as the creator of all things, including the Sacred. The Sacred, in this context, may include sacred texts, rituals, places of worship, and moral principles that are derived from divine revelation. In polytheistic religions, there may be multiple gods, each associated with different aspects of the Sacred. In these traditions, the Sacred might be distributed among various deities, each governing specific domains such as nature, fertility, war, or wisdom pantheistic or panentheistic beliefs, the idea is that the divine is immanent in all of creation, and everything in the world is considered sacred. In this view, God is not separate from the Sacred but is inherent in the fabric of existence. MPYE-010 Important Questions with Answers English Medium
