VMOU Solved Assignment 2022-23 : The Government of Rajasthan renamed Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU) from Kota Open University by a Gazette notification on September 21, 2002. VMOU was founded in 1987 as a pioneering institution for open learning in Rajasthan. The UGC Committee, led by the late Prof. G. Rama Reddy, noted that “the distance system in Rajasthan is well established and has the potential to expand into a full-fledged Open University,” which gave rise to the notion of founding an open university in the State of Rajasthan. In order to strengthen and achieve proper coordination among the dispersed vast distance education resources and to provide the people of the State with a uniform high quality education, the Institute of Correspondence Studies and Continuing Education in Jaipur and (College of Correspondence Studies) in Udaipur were combined to form the VMOU (Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University).
